Palm Sunday is a 1981 collection of short stories, speeches, essays, letters, and other previously unpublished works by author Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
In the nearly 20 years that followed, Vonnegut published several novels that were only marginally successful, such as Cat's Cradle (1963) and God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater (1964). By the time of Kilgore Trout's first appearance (in 1965's God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater), both Vonnegut and Sturgeon had moved to different cities, and Vonnegut had begun to be perceived as a mainstream author. There is some question of Christ's divinity and how that plays a part in Christian principles and it is suggested that the voice in the novel desires a form of collectivism where humanity looks at one another as equal parts and equal heirs… Vonnegut's 1965 novel God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater describes a story by this name, attributing it to his recurring character Kilgore Trout, although the plot summary given is closer in nature to the eponymous tale from his short-story… This collection was published in 1999 by G. P. Putnam's Sons. Howard W. Campbell also appears briefly in Vonnegut's later novel Slaughterhouse-Five. "My God," she said, "are you a Hoosier?" "I'm a Hoosier, too," she crowed. "Nobody has to be ashamed of being a Hoosier." "I'm not," I said.
